PP758 - A Theme Challenge from Claire

Hello crafty friends!  Claire here to welcome you back to the Paper Players for a new challenge.  Before we get to this week's challenge, I'd like to thank everyone for the wonderful cards in the gallery for Stef's  sketch challenge.  The gallery was full of fabulous cards and we appreciate you joining in!   

Now, on to this week's challenge.  I have a seasonal theme challenge for you!  I love Halloween and it's time to create a fun or spooky card with a Halloween costume.   Let's have fun and get creative!

PP757 Challenge Winners

Hello crafty friends!  Happy Saturday and happy World Card Making Day!  

Stef here, and I'd like to give a big thank you to everyone who played along with my sketch challenge.   There were some amazing cards with a great variety of designs using the sketch and it was wonderful to visit each of your blogs to see how you came up with them.  You definitely made it difficult for me to choose a winner.  

Before I reveal my Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of our Design Team for their Cut Above favorites.

In the scene Jolanda created, I could almost feel the cold from winter!  I loved the moody look to the sky along with just a touch of whimsy with the cute snowman.  The dark card base and snowy embossed background finished things off so beautifully.  Congratulations Jolanda for being my Headliner this week!

PP756 Challenge Winners

Hello stampers! Jan here, saying thanks to everyone who participated in my CAS Watercolour challenge this week. There were so many delightful creations, which made our job choosing Headliner and the Cut Aboves extremely difficult... just how we like it!

Before I share my Headliner, let's see what caught the Design Team's eyes. Here they are, in order of entry.

Resist embossing using watercolour has created a sense of serenity that fits well with the sympathy sentiment. The perfectly CAS layout, with lots of open space adds to the elegaic quality of the design. Cindy's colour palette is gorgeous while the unobtrusive bling adds just the right touch of solemnity.

PP756 - A Clean-and-Simple Challenge from Jan

Hello everyone! This is Jan here, welcoming you to new challenge at  The Paper Players. Thank you to everyone who played along with LeAnne's subtle colour challenge. As always, the entries were gorgeous. 

It's my pleasure to be the hostess for our Clean and Simple challenge. I've chosen the theme of Watercolour. So maybe you'd like to stamp or emboss an image then use your inks to watercolour, maybe you'd like to get down and dirty with some ink smooshing, or maybe you'd like to try something wild like blowing the ink or using salts. However you'd like to play with water colouring, this is your challenge. 

Just remember that it's also a CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE, so your finished item should:

  • have lots of open white space
  • have a single focal point
  • have minimal layers and embellishments
